Well I found the problem just need to find a fix

Hi all when I bought my WRR it had the speedo fault, if you haven't seen this its when the speedo runs much faster than it should do due to a the battery going flat. Mine was showing 199 KPH most of the time and recored the milage way off . Not wishing to run the milage up through the roof I unplugged the speed sensor which solved the problem.

That was until on the next ride, it was fine for a bit then the engine light came on and she died. I turned the mains off and she restarted fine and went on her way. The next time out the same thing happen I had a check over the bike but could not find anything wrong. When I checked the on board computer the only fault that came up was 70 which is the 20 minute idle warning . This morning on a ride it shut down dead at 20 minutes into it. I have figured out with no speed sensor input the computer thinks the bike is on idle all the time hence the shut down .So its time to buy a new speedo at £199 + vat or reconnect the sensor with a small bar mounted switch that I can punch every few minutes to fool the on board computer.

A bugger but fixable.

Very weird indeed.  That would have been a dealer job for me I suspect. Where do you read the error codes?

hi I have chatted to a guy in the USA he suggests using a speed healer which would cost around £70.
Im going to think about it as the switch is only £3.95.

Steve sells one at £56 (totallywrs).  I bought one from them and it works a treat in adjusting for my altered sprocket sizes.
