Hi all mine needs changing too I rung Chorley Yamaha first they were mostly un helpful didn't even want to check vin numbers for me they said to check it myself terrible any way contacted Wigan Yamaha and they have ordered parts just waiting for time slot in workshop to get it done do you think it's all right to ride as it's been OK for nearly 8 yrs cheers martin
I am waiting for the part to come into my local dealer and have been out today for 7 hours with Grassroots and SteveT from this forum and it was fine. My thinking is its lasted this long so another couple of weeks won't hurt it. Incidentally looking at the US forum it seems that a lot of the problem from the stator were from high tempature hard riding on sand. Cheers Simon
Hi all stator coil done yesterday at Wigan Yamaha all went well now looking forward to some paranoid free summer riding that's of course if we get a summer cheers martin
I had a call about a week after I found I had to get mine changed and they said they can do it next week .
Its going to be peace of mind having it done .
Mine took about a week to arrive at the dealers. They might be short of stock, as it's going on worldwide. I wouldn't worry too much about a breakdown. It's unlikely in our climate!
