Hi Martin

Ring your local dealer with the VIN number is probably easiest. Lots of info here.

Brian

Hi ya martin,

I emailed Yamaha to find out if my bike was in the effected batch. Contact details are as follows.....

cust.service@yamaha-motor.uk Or Nick.Girling@yamaha-motor.co.uk

Telephone number: 01932 358000

I dealt with Nick Girling who was most helpful. He'll need to know your VIN number so don't forget to include that in your email too.

Best of luck to you,

Paul.

Hi Martin,

I am waiting for the part to come into my local dealer and have been out today for 7 hours with Grassroots and SteveT from this forum and it was fine. My thinking is its lasted this long so another couple of weeks won't hurt it. Incidentally looking at the US forum it seems that a lot of the problem from the stator were from high tempature hard riding on sand. Cheers Simon

I had a call about a week after I found I had to get mine changed and they said they can do it next week .
Its going to be peace of mind having it done .

Phoned Southampton Yamaha again today and said they are waiting on the part from Holland! Has anyone else experienced a delay in getting it done?

Mine took about a week to arrive at the dealers.  They might be short of stock, as it's going on worldwide.  I wouldn't worry too much about a breakdown.  It's unlikely in our climate!
