Indicator Germlins

Well it's been a great week of hard work and i was close to being able to post a few new pictures to show the fruits of my labour, but have stummbled at the last hurdle mad.gif

New longer clutch and throttle cables are in and seem close to perfect (a lot easier than expected to do...thank you dearly for your guidance in previous posts Brian) smile. New bars, handguards, risers done. Brake, clutch, starter, kill/ run switches, horn and lights, all extended and seem to be working great however the indicators have a gremlin rage.gif.

When i switch left, no problems front or back, both working well.

When i switch right, the icon upon the dash blinks green indicating, but neither the front or back right side indicators actually flash?

What on earth could i have possibly done or caused ??? All i believe i did was to bridge in a 100mm piece of cable to each of the cables, about 60-70mm in from the plug ends.

When i cut into the headlight plug i did wire in a kill switch between the 2 black cables, not that i see that should have effected the indicators.

Any suggestions are most certainly welcome smile

So close yet so far...Paul.

Solved it number1.gif

Unbelievable. Once i got to testing everything i'd done and found all to be good, a back to basics approach found that the front and back right side indicators had coincidently both blown at the same time lightbulb.gif ...or at least if one had gone out some time ago, i hadn't noticed...dohh. Having been at work to such a large degree, of course i thought it was a mistake i had made somewhere biggrin

As a by the way, chopping the switch into the two black cables for the headlight kill switch was a mistake as it meant that when the lights were off, the high beam icon appears on the dash. Must be used as a common or something. Happy days though as i found the green cable to be the one to cut into, leaving the high beam active to be able to flash any traffic necerssary, similar to as Brian had suggested.

All is well and it's time to burnparty.gif

I am pleased to hear that you found the problem Paul!

I read your post several times but was at a loss as to what to suggest other than swapping leads left to right to see if that made any difference

Brian
