my speedometer wasnt working this morning on my wr250r and after riding all day all of a sudden the orange engine light came on but the bike seemed to be running as usual.
any ideas what the problem could be or how to fix it?
I hope someone that has a proper answer comes along soon Dayne but it doesn't sound good.
I have had the orange light on since I got my WRR and was told it was because there had been battery issues i.e. it came without one and I started it up using a "tender" unit. My MOT man said that he was getting in the software to be able to deal with the these engine management system code errors so I am going to pop in with mine for him to have a look.
Maybe you have a local bike shop with the software? I assume the main dealer would be charging about £80 just for the priviledge of plugging you in
Hi, sorry to hear about your problem, I would suggest maybe having a look or reposting the thread on the us based wr forum as you may get a better responce on there, I am sure there is a way to self check the trouble codes but have not had any experience with doing so myself.
To conclude another problem, it was a problem with the speedo cable rectified by fiddling with the wires and there was a bit water in the connections I drove out with wd40. Speedo now works and the light has gone out. Cheers for the help Dayne
