Yamaha WR250R Suspension Upgrades
Permalink

I’m based in the UK and have recently purchased a Yamaha WR250X which I’m converting to a WR250R.

I’m wanting to get some advise on upgrading the stock suspension especially the rear shock as it’s just not quite there for me.

I’m planning on doing mostly ADV but with some off road fun too.

I’m 6ft weighing around 160lbs without gear, 170lbs with and between 200-220lbs with luggage etc.

There are not many options here in the UK re advise as the bike isn’t available here.  We have Hyperpro in Holland that supply shocks/springs etc but not much in the way of advice.

I’m not sure I want to go for a new shock yet if I can sort the rear out and tweek the front.  From what I’ve read the rear needs to be rebuilt and the fronts re valved.  Is this correct?
