Hi All starting issue

Hi, All I'm back with another starting issue. When I hit the starter button the motor spins over but doesn't engage every so often it catches but fails to start as it dis engages just before.

Do you think its the one way bearing that has failed ?

Hi all yes it was the starter clutch (one-way bearing) that was at fault no real sign of damage but she was not holding when I was trying to start . Yamaha UK wanted £90.00 for a new one but I managed to find one on Amazon from China that was only £30.00 . When I tried to fit it I found that the rotation of it was incorrect but after an email, to the manufacturer I was told to turn the pawls 180 degs and try. It's all back in and running well.
I bought a puller and flywheel tool at the same time so I'm ready if it goes again.
Now its time to get a speedo healer fitted .

Well done!  Sorry that I missed your earlier message. It's so quiet on here these days cry

Let us know how you get on with the Chinese sprag. They sell them for TTRs but feedback so far has been less than positive. Hope you have better luck wink

Brian
