Engine management fault light cleared!

My WR250R has had the orange warning light showing since I bought it but it ran perfectly well so I tried to ignore it. However, it has bugged me over the years and I have gradually replaced all the emissions kit to try and clear the fault.

I at last got around to learn how to use the on-board diagnostics (see here ) and nailed down the fault code to a "seized EXUP servo motor".

I would like to say a very public thanks to Grassroots (aka Paul) for the very kind donation of a brand new servo unit that he removed from his own WRR when he bought it - he had also previously gifted me the other emissions kit my WRR was missing. I did the initial fit yesterday and finished the cable adjustment and put the guards etc back on today.

I am delighted to say I have no engine warning light showing now  biggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Thank you Paul!!!

Brian

Good stuff, been wondering how to get into the onboard setting/ fault codes...not that I have any but on the video from MAD they talked about changing the exhaust & resetting the CO settings through the dash.

I think the after market exhaust does away with the EXUP is that correct ? I'm happy with the standard exhaust on the WRR which makes a change for me.

Yes Terry. The EXUP flap is on the neck of the exhaust. Owners that go for an after-market exhaust usually take off the EXUP servo and cables and put in a bypass to save getting the error codes.

An absolute pleasure Brian. I'm glad to hear the little beast has you beaming again smile

Enjoy the festive period  of extra trail days out.

Paul.
