I just have bought a 2008 WR250R, 2500 km in perfect condition. i usually ride a 600xlr Honda(1983) or a 600LC4 KTM(1991) in soft enduro way, but they become to be "vintage" bikes and more for collection. I was looking for a recent and lighter bike, efficient enough to ride everywhere without fighting with power or spend too much time in maintenance. The WR250R is the good answer for me. I tried it for a 50 kms trip in small tracks up and down hills , on earth and rock : what a pleasant bike ! it is very efficient, comfortable and enough powered for all situations even with a 100 kg pilot. I will only harden the suspensions the only complaint I have : it is a small bike for a 2 metres guy, standing on it. sit on is OK. I will look for higher handlebar. If some one has do this, I am interested by (I will lok in the forum).
I am also 2m tall. High bars (Renthal Dakar are best), bar risers and longer cables will transform the bike. It worked perfectly for me. Al the parts are available through Brian, who gives excellent service.
Welcome to the forum. I hope you feel at home already.
Beautiful part of France you ride in ... very envious .
I too am nearly two meters tall. Bar risers, more of a bend in the bars, cable extensions and also slightly lower foot pegs, have all helped me to get my bike to fit perfectly now and i love it.
You are not wrong about the suspension if you ride hard. I sent my shock and forks over to Go Race in the States a couple of months ago. It has been the best modification i have ever made and promise i will write a post about it all in the very near future when i get a moment.
For now, enjoy your already superb bike and fantastic ridding in France.
