Clutch switch.

Hi one and all,

Caused another little mishap no...doh.

I was rerouting my clutch cable as it was rubbing a little and i could see a better path, when i accidently pushed out the clutch switch. I heard a ping and something fly across the room. Goodness knows if it was a lug, a clip or something snap off maybe even, but now i do know the clutch switch won't stay in it's hole and just pushes out when the clutch lever is let out.

Anyone know what holds the clutch switch in place and where i might find a replacement bit?

Huge thanks in advance as always,

Paul.

nono

There is a little plastic tag on the body of the switch that springs into a hole on the perch that stops it popping out - see photo below. Easily broken if you don't know it's there!

I am pretty sure it's the same fixing as the TTR so if you are prepared to splice some wires then there is a cheap(ish) solution here

...Lol. You really are one in a million Brian, that is most perfect.

Once i had daylight this morning, i had another search around for the lost bit in hope it was some sort of clip. Just as i had to leave for work i find the culprit....Grrrr, part of the plastic latch that you depress when removing the switch, confirming it is indeed a broken part cry.

Having looked online last night, i'm sure i did in fact see a switch listed somewhere saying that it would fit the WR and also the TTR thumbsup.gif  smile. The issue of having to splice some wires is no worries as due to the height of my bars, i'd have to cut into the new one where ever it came from to lengthen it anyway.

Brian thank you so much again for helping me to sort out my foolishness so damn quickly yet again biggrin.

On my way to post it in a minute Paul wink

Brian

PS I checked the part numbers and the TTR and WRR are shown with different ones hence suggesting splicing in the cheap option biggrin

Thanks again Brian. The new switch arrived super fast this morning and is already chopped in place !  smile

I just returned from using it as an excuse to go for a burn once i was done...fun times, that is until i almost looped it practicing wheelies coming back... lol biggrin

I love this bike.

Cheers buddy,

Paul smile
