I finally got round to remembering to photograph some of the recent new installations. I'd been out enjoying it all so much that i seemed to always forget .
The main direction was to be gaining some height upon the bars to help out my 6' 1" standing position. In the process of doing so, to also gain a little more strength, durability and of course some shiny new styling .
Once having picked up myself a set of longer clutch and throttle cables from Totally WRs I was ready to go. The rest of the kit i had previously ordered from the States many months ago and certainly now feel the wait sure was worth it....
The handguards are the Ultimate handguards from HDB. The rise of the lower clamps is 2 1/8". The bars are ProTaper and are the Windham RM Mid bend. I took Brians advice and bridged in about 100mm to all electrical cables (thanks Brian), it worked out just great. After rerouting things some what, everything is silky smooth from full left, to full right lock . The Venhill clutch and throttle cables are superb, i highly recommend them.
Even added a headlight kill switch, now working perfectly . Inbetween the green cable meaning i can still flash traffic with my high beam.
The bars took some serious going in the vice to bend them into perfection, but are now spot on and seem super strong. A few spacers between the handguard and the top clamp has enabled me to angle the levers right down where i need them to be without the front brake banjo catching. Things are starting to almost fit like a glove.
I have on order some wider foot pegs from a guy in the Czech Republic. These have been custom made to be slightly lower than stock pegs and will help nail down that last few mm that i need for the ultimate standing position. Watch this space for the update to come .
