Which wire to chop in a head light kill switch?

Whilest i have the wiring removed for lengthening (bars are being raised), i thought i'd chop in a push on/ push off kill switch for the head light, but which wire to put the switch in line with?

I really am guessing here, but would have assumed the middle plug in the photo that came from the back of the head light, and from what i seem to remember from glancing over the wiring diagram, either one of the black wires?

I intended to chop one of these push switches in line...

Would my intentions be okay to do? confused.gif

Any help is much appreciated as i really am useless when it comes to the electrics and reading the diagrams in the manual hmm.gif

Thank you as always,

Paul  smile

Paul,

You must be on a roll! Once you start........

If you don't get any response from the wise and learned on here I'll do some investigation on mine as it came with a switch already installed........

let me know,

jon

Hi Paul

Sorry not to have replied earlier.

The easiest method is to fit your switch between in the feed to the low-beam element inside the cover of the headlight (the green wire) and without needing to cut any wiring.

That way, with the switch off, only the side-lights illuminate (front & rear), but the main-beam switch still operates the hi-beam, so you can flash traffic if necessary.

Very kind of you to have been prepared to put yourself out Jon  thumbsup.gif,  thanks buddy.

Having had a few good suggestions today, i've got to say i like your idea the best thanks Brian. I think maybe it takes a biker to know a biker...WR biker at that biggrin.  Nice to have the hi beam flasher there.

Rock on i shall. Just waiting for some electrical sleeving to arrive in the next couple of days as it was impossible to find off the shelf frustrated.gifi only learnt this after no less than 15 different stores! Thank goodness for the internet smile

I can't wait to finally put all my hard work to the test and get to ride again. It's only been a week but having withdraw symptoms already.
