Wahoo - got a WR250R to do some work on!

A good mate of mine is not well at the moment and asked me to do some work on his WRR so I picked it up this afternoon.

The work involves fitting new chain and sprockets, tightening a couple of loose spokes, stripping and checking/re-greasing the linkage bearings, straightening the sump guard which is nearly touching the casing on the LH side,  and trying the heat gun method on the fork protectors. Well, those are the things I remember!

Wrenching on a buddies bike so that you have a wingman for the summer smile... nice way to spend the bank holiday weekend.

I'll be thinking of you as i get stuck into my new longer clutch and throttle cables for the raising of my bars.

Really enjoy your little project Brian. With a special thanks to you, i'm certainly very much looking forward to mine smile.

Great stuff - I'll just pack mine off to you too!

I've still to try out grassroots fork protectors solution but from the look I think it's prolly a tad late - there are some serious flat spots!!

Spent some time today working on the WRR with its owner Olly.

I think Paul's fork guard tip is going to work well. Loads of clearance now.

We stripped out the swing arm and linkage arm to check, clean and re-grease the bearings.

An oddity is that there are no seals on the outer swing arm bearings. The outer covers are not that effective and allow water in. Olly had a couple of spare seals so, after replacing the outer bearings and collars with new parts, we added them to the outside bearing wink

The lower shock bearing, collar and seals also needed to be replaced but we didn't have those to hand so they will be fitted later.

Work left to be done includes fitting a new chain and sprocket set, change oil and filter, fit a new decal set - and anything else Olly thinks of in the meanwhile biggrin
