Very interesting Brian,   scrolling through and coming across the silencer reminded me that you were going to cut one open and remove some weight (catalyst).  Did you ever do that, and how did it go?

I had forgotten all about that Steve! It'll go on my "to do" list wink

Well done.  I might start scrolling around for a s/h one if you succeed.

Do you use the WR much or still prefer the TTR?

Both very nice trail bikes Steve!

I tend to use the TTR325 most of the time as its a bit rough around the edges so I don't have to look after it as I do the WRR.

The WRR is a lovely bike and does all that I ask of it. It is more civilised than the TTR and is deceptively fast on the lanes because of its better suspension and quiet power.

My brother (another TTR rider) borrowed the WRR for a day's trail riding and occasionally reminds me that he wants first refusal if I decide to sell it!

It's nice not to have to choose as I have both biggrin

You're a lucky man.  I loved and still miss my DR350 but appreciate the much better suspension and handling of the WR.  I couldn't keep both, but did love that simple, air cooled torquey motor.

Same thing with my road bike when I sold off my Africa Twin to buy a Varadero (all for a 6th gear for touring).  Oh, for a larger garage!
