IMS 3 gallon Tank

Hi

I'm considering getting a larger tank for my trip to the Pyrenees, has any one got one of the IMS 3 gallon tanks installed?

What range does it give you before and after the reserve light comes on.

Thanks

Depends on how hard you ride beforebiggrin  Same as it previously did after unless you move the sensor on the pump itself.

I took my wr to the Pyrenees. I kept the standard tank and just carried spare fuel. There are some nice plastic 1 litre multi fuel bottles meant for camping stoves that work well. Made by Trangia and available at Go Outdoors for about £15 I think. Indestructible and considerably cheaper than an IMS tank.

If i'm totally honest, i've been thinking of taking both, IMS 3.1 and a multifuel bottle for such trips just incase. Maybe i'm just a little inexperienced with such a distance, into such cold locations and therefore a bit paranoid worry.gif Give me the jungle and 30 degrees any day smile

I'll check out Trangia and Go Outdoors...thanks. Gotta be better than the likes of Touratech hey...lol.

Anyone tried a roll up fuel blader that can stow away nice and small when not in use?

We weren't doing huge mileages in the Pyrenees, and the stock tank and a bit of spare worked really well for me.  You need enough onboard for your day's riding because once you are up in the mountains on the trails, it's a long, long way down into a town big enough to have a fuel station.

I used a collapsible fuel tank in a RIB (boat) many years ago.  Took a real hammering but never let us down.
