I have already posted messages so this intro is a bit late. My excuse is that I only got my WRR yesterday!
It came without a seat, side panels, chain guard, number plate or battery. I ordered a battery and number plate from eBay and the other parts are on back order. My mate Olly lent me his seat and side panels so that I could do some test runs - thanks mate
Whilst waiting for the bits, I fixed the non-working brake light which turned out to be caused by a broken wire. The indicators were flashing at double speed because the front ones are LEDs embedded in the handguards. I have temporarily fitted a pair of these so they are legal for the MOT but have ordered a pair of resistors from eBay to see if I can go back to the LEDs.
The number plate and battery arrived today so they were quickly fitted and, with the addition of Olly's seat and side panels, I have had my first couple of rides on the WRR.
First off was quick run up to the garage for a few pints of super unleaded and back home to change the oil and filter. The oil that came out looked clean enough and there were no unwelcome "bits" on the filter which was good news. I don't know the history of the bike so the oil change was for my own peace of mind.
The bike starts instantly and ran very sweetly. Clutch and gears all good - phew! After my TTR, the seat seems vertiginous and I nearly fell off dismounting in the petrol station when I caught my foot on the rear mudguard
I haven't checked the sprockets but I am guessing its standard gearing which seems very high. There was a lot of traffic so I haven't had the chance to let the WRR stretch its legs yet.
Just back from a daylight run on the WRR and was very pleasantly surprised.
I took the sump guard off and I was right about it causing the "noise" coz it was all quiet on that front. Only the exhaust and wind noise to be heard
Trish braved the cold to hear me go off and up the main road. She said the exhaust note was very acceptable - phew
Clutch and gears very sweet and I felt very confident with it on the (albeit dry) tarmac. The bike accelerated very quickly through the gears and I am very impressed with the engine. There was some hesitancy on certain throttle openings and I am assuming that is because all the Yamaha gubbins has been removed? Didn't spoil the ride.
After hearing a grumble about top speed on the WRR, I had a go on my own private dual carriageway. 80mph indicated sitting up and 82mph with my head down a bit. Seems unbelievable so I will be taking my Road Angel out next time to see if the speedo is accurate!
What a cracking bike
Both my newly fitted front indicators have decided to stop working so they need attention.
Also, should I worry that the engine warning light is on? I am hoping it has been caused by my messing around with batteries, lights, etc. Is there a way of clearing the fault codes or whatever they are causing the light to be on?
The engine light could be on if the 02 sensor has been removed due to having the fmf exhaust fitted, you can do some wiring mods to sort that out. The speedo on mine seems to be reading approx 5mph high.

Don't forget the speedo sensor comes off the gearbox. It should read right(ish) on stock gearing but it all goes tits up once you start messing with sprockets.
My bike had similar speeds on stock gearing. I have now fitted a 12t front. When the chain (original one) wears out I'll fit a longer one and larger rear sprocket for even lower gearing.
