Not at that price you can't. And it's a known and trusted manufacturer.
I thought my bike had a duff battery when I bought it. It went flat after a couple of days. A good charge and it's been fine since. I put it down to too many short starts in the garage before I actually got out to ride my new toy.
As I expected, the WRR has arrived without a battery so I have ordered one so should be able to report back soon. Menawhile, with all the electronic gadgetry on the bike I don't think I should mess around trying to start it using a battery tender
Are there likely to be any problems with it being off battery for at least a month?
Anyone used an Optimate battery charger? I'm particularly looking at the Optimate 4. Thought it'd be a good idea while the bike is parked up for longer periods of time. Any thoughts?
I use an Oxford Oximiser which charges at 0.6A. It says that it can be left connected and charging, but for some reason (probably cos I'm old fashioned) I just put it on for 24hrs or so once a month. Seem to keep my battery in good shape. Definitely much better than letting a battery go low and boost charging it.
I have been using an Optimate 3 for many years on my TTR and WR gel batteries and it works great. I do the same as Steve and just top up the batteries if the bikes haven't been used for a while.
