Been busy lately so haven't been on here as much as i'd like but hopefully word will get around & more people will use this forum.

It has potential to be a very useful site.

There are only 3 WRR's that I know of in Devon (TRF anyway) & they're on here. I'll put a link up on the National TRF forum though.

Does anyone have any ideas how to promote this forum elsewhere?

Just found out about this forum (thanks Brian).

Have bought a 2010 250r.  Pick it up in a couple of weeks.  No doubt will be picking brains about mods etc.  My new bike is totally original and will need trail modifying.

Whats the best sump guard?  I reckon the CRD one looks good.  I want the full wrap around job, not a skinny skid plate.

Steve

Hi Steve

Welcome to the forum, I have the x model mainly use it for traveling to work but I also have a ttr250 for the off road stuff! I have not looked into the sump guards but there is only a limited choice of most parts in the uk for these bikes and second hand parts are very few and far between. I think this is due to not many bikes sold in the uk.

Adam.

Hi Adam,

Yes, i'm beginning to realise there's not much in uk.  I probably don't need too much bike specific stuff anyway.

Apparently there's a good site in the US for parts, not too pricey either.  Will let you know when I find it.

Steve

 Hi Steve....Welcome to the site.

Ref Sump Guard.

CRD all the way.Perfect fit and very strong. It also protects the engine covers very well.

Hi Andy,

Thanks for the advice.  Think I will bite the bullet and order one.  I have an EvoTech tail tidy on it's way to me now.

I see you have a fair bit of gear strapped to the back of your bike.  Do you have a rack fitted?  If so, where did it come from?

Steve

The rack is home made using the same mounts as the genuine rack.....cost £20 inc all spacers/nuts/bolts etc.

There is a brand new Yamaha rack on e-bay at the moment for £89 inc p&p....good deal.

Perhaps I've missed it, but I can't see a genuine Yamaha one at that price.

Will probably wait til I've got the bike, then see what size/shape would best suit.

What sort of mileage do you get trailriding per tank of fuel?  And how much further once the reserve light comes on?

Hi, the genuine rack is still on eBay item number 380477378299

They don't seem to come along that often!

Riding my wrx on the ride I get about 80 miles till the light comes on then possibly another 25 but not yet found out! Figures for trail riding maybe a bit different.

Adam.

 Hi Steve.

I get around a 100 miles (ROAD/TRAIL) before the fuel light comes on and have had up to 30 miles with the fuel light on.On refill it still only took 7.5 ltrs.confuse

The motard riders give it more gas then us trail types.biggrin

Cheers Andy.
