My WRR is off to sunny Spain!

I said goodbye to my WR250R yesterday when my son Matt loaded it up on his car and set off for the Plymouth-Santander ferry!

He is looking forward to exploring his local area (San Miguel de Salinas in the southern Costa Blanca) on it and I am looking forward to visiting and going out on it myself once Matt has mapped out some routes biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

I had to make some room here to get the car in the garage and am down to just a TTR250 and a BSA A10 Golden Flash now.

Blimey, that looks a bit low on the suspension!  A trials bike maybe, but a wr isn't exactly a lightweight.

You are dead right Steve. Bit of a worry but overall he was 70kg under the max.

We were going to dismantle the bike and put it in the back but then a nearly new oven, hob and extractor fell into his lap and filled the interior leaving us very little choice

They are only a couple of hours away from home now with no dramas so fingers crossed.

I think the nose weight on a trailer for a car that size would be about 70kg max.  That's as much as should be on the tow ball.  I expect the ferry guys have seen worse than that many times!

I expect you'll be glad when he gets there.  Fingers crossed.....

Good time ahead then, exploring the Spanish trails.  We're off to Ride Limousin again this year.

Yep - he got home in one piece!  biggrinbiggrin

I think the WRR weighs only a tad more than 70kg wink

He is going to get some petrol and do some exploring before catching a 5pm plane back to London ready for work tomorrow.

Looking forward to riding in Spain again. Nice not to have to tog up to the eyeballs against cold//rain/mud smile

You will enjoy Ride Limousin. Torsten is good company and Rowena a fantastic cook!

We used Torsten's routes loaded on our GPS for two days riding before going down to stay at Stephen Dunne's place in Limoges and then on to Rocamadour - fantastic lanes there albeit a tad warm!

Jealous as hell biggrin.

So nice to see you making the most of your time since Totally TTRs sun.gif

If you ever happen to have any GPX files for anywhere in Spain or France even, that are particularly good for a couple of days or so riding, I'd love to be able to give myself that push and gain some inspiration to make some small trips happen in between working like crazy biggrin.

I really would love to get the ferry from Portsmouth to Bilbao/ Santander, then straight onto the old smugglers route into some gnarly trails. It's just the damn boat there and back that's so expensive. Might have to consider taking the van and looking into some other locations too.

Enjoy the good times to be had with your son Brian.

I'll catch you out and about somewhere, some place one day pal.

Paul.
