Yamaha looks to recall some WRR's for clutch lever issue. Today i found this below on an American website....
Yamaha is Recalling certain 2014-2016 WR250R motorcycles

17 11 2016

WASHINGTON, D.C. – November 17, 2016 – (Motor Sports Newswire) –

RECALL Subject: Clutch Lever Seal may Crack and cause Oil Leak

Report Receipt Date: NOV 03, 2016
NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V800000

Component(s): POWER TRAIN
Potential Number of Units Affected: 2,550
All Products Associated with this Recall

Vehicle Make YAMAHA

Model WR250R

Model Year(s) 2014 – 2016

Manufacturer: Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA

SUMMARY: Yamaha Motor Corporation , USA (Yamaha) is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 WR250R motorcycles manufactured August 1, 2013, to June 1, 2016. Due to an incorrect assembly process, the clutch push lever oil seal may crack, allowing engine oil to leak out.

CONSEQUENCE: If oil leaks from the engine, the oil may get on the rear tire, causing a loss of control and increasing the risk of a crash.
REMEDY: Yamaha will notify owners, and dealers will replace the clutch push lever oil seal, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in November 2016. Owners may contact Yamaha customer service at 1-800-962-7926. Yamaha’s number for this recall is 990108.
I wonder if this will affect bikes in Europe and the rest of the world confused.gif.
If Yamaha are anything to go by on past record, they were superb for speed and service when it came to all of our worldwide stator recalls and i'm sure they'll do us proud once again smile.
As it goes, i think most of us here on the forum have bikes that are out of the date range for being affected. The problem appears to be on newer models, but that leads me to my final point. What's changed on the newer bikes that is different to earlier models then? I didn't believe the bike had been changed in anyway since first addition. If it is only bikes in the States that are affected i could understand that a little more as there are a few minor differences between EU and US models. I'm sure that there's gonna be an interesting debate sparked now at the very least biggrin.
Watch this space,
Paul.
