larger fuel tank

Here in Australia it can be a long way between fuel stations & wondering about larger fuel tanks, sounds like in some cases they fit one tank to another but I don't understand what goes !!!

I used a 14.5lt Clarke tank on my XR400 & that was perfect, not too big but giving me a good range, I've seen 11lt , 14lt & 18lt to suit the WRR, the 11lt or 14lt would suit me

I'm sure there will be plenty of ideas out there, fire away

Cheers Terry

See here Terry - the WRR for sale has an IMS 4.7 gallon tank fitted - quite a beast!

ordered a IMS 11lts tank last night, will be interesting to see how it goes & if there are any changes to the way the bike handles

Will up & report once it's fitted & tested

Cheers Terry

Good luck with the new tank Terry.

In Australia like you say, a larger tank i'm sure is a must have. Would be interested to hear how you get on with a tank so large. Hope you don't find the gas sloshing around when half full doesn't throw you off balance too much biggrin.

I had a 14.5lt Clarke tank on my XR400RC & it was fine, perfect in fact

Got the IMS 11lt tank today, pretty easy fit but the fit of the side shrouds is not 100% & the black would have been better but here in Australia I could only get the clear, will see what sort of range I can get

Was out today testing the new IMS 11lt tank, I did 241kms on gravel roads, dry weather rds & tracks.  Low fuel light did not come on & I added 9lts to fill her back up.  I'm happy with that & will do me just fine.

Bike handled well & in fact could not notice any difference, videos to come

Terry

Love it! 241 k's and no need to fuel stop. Good style to you sir.

Enjoyed my hugely wet day out with the TRF on Saturday around Sussex. Found myself doing the usual stare out on the low fuel light as I approached the 60 mile mark not knowing where the next gas station was...lol.

I contacted IMS about the missing shroud mounts & they air freighted a mounting kit FOC to my front door....great service IMS

Loving the 11lt tank, gives me a good range without turning the WR into a dog, just perfect

Cheers Terry
