Totally WRs moving to an eShop!

OK – so Totally WRs is moving into the 21st century with an eShop. Go here to check it out.

With our existing web catalogue, it is time consuming to add a new product. Convoluted doesn't even come close as a description. I have lots of ideas for new items to add such as front mudguards, etc., etc., but am put off as it's such a faff.

We have over 70 products on offer and our systems, which rely in the main on an 11 year-old Microsoft FrontPage web programme (operated by an IT numpty - me), aren’t doing the job!

I get quite a few emails from prospective customers who have found an item on our web catalogue but haven't found the guidance text explaining how to buy. As a consequence, our old system generated unnecessary emails and probably put off prospective buyers who are used to doing the whole purchase from start to finish in one go.

We are in an age now where many owners are very internet savvy and if they see something they like they want to buy it there and then rather than having to email us with a list and wait for a shipping quote and details on how to pay.

The volume of business makes our current systems overly time consuming and inefficient and so an eShop seems to be the way forward to allow us to provide a better service to our customers.

I have put a significant amount of time into setting up 1&1's eShop Plus for Totally TTRs (our sister business) which has been running successfully for a couple of months now. It does what we want. We have gone with 1&1 as they provide our web hosting and have proved very reliable over the years.

Ideally we would have set up a separate shop for Totally WRs but so many of the parts, accessories and tools are common with the TTR it made sense both financially and in our time investment to merge the two.

We have populated the eShop with all of our WR250R and WR250X products, categorised them, set up customer “regions” to work out shipping costs, and set up a few payment methods.

The system is now live and I hope customers will like the new eShop but only time will tell!

Go here to check it out.

We will wait for the bouquets or the flak!

Any problems please let us know.

Brian (and Trish)

Thanks Paul - much appreciated!

I have a concern that tucking the WR250R parts in with the TTR250 parts might put owners off confuse

A nice little WR section tucked in the site should hopefully be just the ticket. I'd also like to think that new customers will see how happy us existing guys are with the superb service we've all recieved from you at totally wrs through the chat on the forums.
The new eShop really does look tidy i must say. I'll be sure to use it myself. My computer is down at the moment, but I look forward to check it out a bit further once it's sorted out and back with me.

Good luck to you Brian,

Paul  smile
