Okay, so i've been agonising over whether or not i want or need one of these little beauties for about 9 months, and now i shout for your 2 cents . I've realised that i never WANT to have to spend out, so guess this is a question of do i need???
I always kind of felt that it would be of use to me at high speed on the freeway traveling longer distances....when over taking large vehicles, against gusts of wind and no more potential wobbles at 75+.
I also felt that off road it would be of use in sand, mud, ruts and rocky terrain.
I choose the GPR V4 over something like say, Scotts, because the V4 has less increments on the dial (8 i think), making it easier to control and use, over 20 something + increments with Scotts. The V4 is said to be extremely well made and great value in all reviews, but do i REALLY need it???
What are your thoughts guys? Any previous experience with a stabilzer on one of our beloved bikes?
sorry Grassroots but missed your post. I've never used one of them but there were a number of KTM's on a practice day on Sunday and those that had them swore by them and those that didn't swore at them!
Being 6' myself I found the bar risers a real God send and few quid cheaper too!!
I decided to man up and go without the damper. I do finally now have my risers on way! I really can't wait as i spend a lot of time thrashing around standing up. Could be one of my most needed and helpful mods yet. Thanks to Brian and Steves efforts on another page, there seems to be some good direction when it comes to extending any cables. ( I'm sure i'll be shouting for some more bits and pieces soon Brian . The Venhill cable work you've put in looks superb. )
