Just picked one up and I have a couple of questions.

How do you secure your bike when you leave it as mine has no keyed ignition just a switch?

Have you had any bother insuring, seem to have an issue as I have a Carole Nash six wheel policy, I am waiting for them to get back to me.

Are there any must have bolt ons / accessories? Bearing in mind this bike will be used for green laneing.

Thanks in advance. Stuart

Hi and welcome to the forum.

From new the bike should have an ignition and steering lock so if yours had neither I would suggest a big lock and chain or and a disc lock.

As for any must have bolt on there is not that much available for the bikes in the uk. I few people have ditched the heavy standard tail pipes in favour for lighter after market ones that give a little bit more power also but found them a little loud for green laning. If it doesn't already have them I would suggest a decent sump guard and hand guards?

i had no problem insuring mine with swinton but as with all off road style mobiles the premiums do seem a little high for the bikes.

Adam.

Welcome to the forum.

Have a browse around and you will see the mods some of us have made.  In short:

Bar risers or higher bars.  (will need to extend throttle/clutch cables - longer ones are available on this forum)

Gearing changes.  Most people find the stock gearing too tall for trailriding.

Lighter rear silencer.  But beware, they are very loud for greenlining (in my opinion)

Speedo recalibrator.  As the sender for the speedo is off the gearbox, not a wheel.

I'm surprised that your bike doesn't have a key.  Has it been heavily modded?  It is an "r" model not an "f" model I assume.

Steve and Adam have got it about perfect!

Keep the motor as standard as possible and concentrate on getting the right gearing for the stuff that you are going to ride, plus the usual bike and body protection - bashplate, frame guards, handguards - plus bar risers or taller bars if you need to improve the riding position.

Above all else, enjoy riding it - they are great bikes biggrin
